Miami-Dade County is home to a diverse array of small and medium businesses (SMBs) across various industries. While these businesses contribute significantly to the local economy, many face challenges in adopting and leveraging digital technologies effectively. The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of digital readiness for business resilience and growth, and the disconnect between the traditional SMB ecosystem and the flourishing Miami tech ecosystem. The eMerge Foundation will be the bridge with JP Morgan Chase, Tech Equity Miami and other organizations to course-correct this misalignment in ecosystems and further fuel traditional SMBs, which are the engine of our economy and the biggest creators of jobs nationwide.
The SMB Growth Lab will give SMBs access to digital training, mentorship, educational resources, access to investors, and tools to help them scale. These activities will directly create a connection between SMBs and the flourishing Miami Tech ecosystem which will provide them with the information and tools necessary to scale in this ever-changing and accelerated innovative economy.
The eMerge Foundation and eMerge Americas has a proven track record of designing and implementing programs for entrepreneurs for the past ten years. This program seeks to: 1) enhance founders' and employee skills to improve efficiency and effectiveness in various tasks, 2) increase business adaptiveness to technological changes by equiping SMBs with the skills and know-how to leverage technology for their business growth, 3) increase competitive advantage over other companies in their industry. through innovation, problem solving, and streamlining processes, and 4) adopt new technology to enhance business.
